Note: Nathan Merrill was born in Newbury on 3 Apr 1676. He lived in the part of town later known as West Newbury. He is listed as a "snowshoe man" in 1706, one of the militia who were equipped with winter gear for forrays against the Indians. He and his brother Nathaniel are decribed as weavers in a 1721 deed. He married Hannah Kent on 6 Sep 1699, in Newbury. She was born on 10 Sep 1679, daughter of John Kent and Sarah Woodman, and died 3 Feb 1735/36 in Newbury. He died 29 Jul 1742.

Hi Cousin :: I descend from Nathaniel Merrill & Susanna Wollerton via their son, Daniel. I also descend from Aquila Chase & Anne Wheeler via their son, Aquila. FTM says that makes us 10th cousins once removed. From your kinfolk in Texas.
Hi Brian~ I'm a closer cousin, eldest grdau. of Lola A. Merrill Cobb & a veteran schoolteacher, too. Have been researching where the Willamantic/Parkman Merrills traveled...Did you discover that Howard went west, divorced, & was murdered? His children were ferreted out to kind-hearted neighbors & begat a whole parcel of Merrills in the Oklahoma panhandle! Hope you're recording your dad's memories of growing up near Preston & Maggie... I only remember them from a few Thanksgiving get-togethers & that Bud locked me in an outbuilding @ one of them!
